Flamingnet Student Book Reviewer SHC
In this short, fast paced book about the Korean War, Harry Brubaker reluctantly leaves his family to fight in Korea. The book generally follows his activities as a fighter pilot, and the tough life he leads. His division of jets, stationed on an aircraft carrier, is ordered to destroy the bridges at Toko-Ri, to cut off enemy supply lines and to isolate them. The book was descriptive despite it's short size, but at times the descriptions got confusing, sometimes because of military terminology. I also thought that the end was quite sad, but it showed the dangerous situation that American soldiers of the time lived through.
